Asphalt Manager
The Asphalt Manager is responsible for the direction and overall administration of the asphalt plant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership, training, growth and development opportunities and supervision.
- Issue daily work assignments: verify proper training and necessary equipment requirements are met.
- Create and sustain a safe working environment for the plant by driving continuous safety, environmental and quality improvements and developing a culture based on current best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company mandated safety and environmental policies, programs, and guidelines as well as regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations and permits.
- Establish, communicate, and monitor environmental and safety compliance.
- Monitor financials, analyze monthly costs, and maintain excellent budget processes.
- Establish relationships with customers and deliver a quality product with excellent customer service.
- Act as liaison between regulatory inspectors and management.
- Maintain professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/knowledge of activity to a “need to know” basis.
- Ensure employees are equipped to meet production schedules.
- Safety Rules and Regulations – OSHA, DOT & Byler Materials Group.
- P & L Responsibility for Hot Mix Asphalt Location including Capital Expenditures & Budgeting.
- Work with production and scheduling to promote positive workplace culture.
- Work closely with quality control to ensure top notch products, meeting customer specifications, mix efficiency and profitability.
- Communicate with maintenance department to maximize uptime.
- Collaborate with Sales team to grow sales volume, ASP, market share and profitability.
- Maintain recordkeeping for site permits with local, state and other governing agencies.
- Maintain a strong focus on reducing waste.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Three (3) or more years in the asphalt production industry.
- Knowledge of asphalt plant equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Complete dedication to safety policies and practices.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis to effectively plan and allocate resources.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
Equipment Operator
Byler Quarries is seeking an Equipment Operator who is responsible for maintaining the proper supply of materials to the plant, performing daily maintenance / minor repairs to plant and mobile equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Operating various equipment around the plant safely and effectively.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
- Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off or loading and unloading.
- Perform daily inspection of equipment.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
- Performing other construction duties as necessary.
- Must be able to maintain a clean, organized, and safe site.
- Must have good interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers.
Qualifications:
- Must be self-motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to use common tools such as hammers, saws, and drills.
- Must be able to safely operate machinery.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb, crawl, kneel, bend, etc.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years of construction related experience preferred.
- Must be able to clearly communicate and follow instructions.
- Ability to work overtime / flexible schedule.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Byler Quarries is seeking an experienced mechanic with heavy equipment knowledge. A minimum of 3 years’ experience is preferred. Mining background a plus.

Quality Control Manager
The Byler Quarries Quality Control Manager will develop and direct quality control procedures so that our products meet internal and external standards before shipment to customers. This position will play a vital role in establishing processes and standards and ensure that the Quality Control team adheres to these guidelines.
The Byler Quarries Quality Control Manager will need to have experience in quality control, along with excellent team leadership and coordination skills to drive their team, and the quarry in general, to success. This role is essential to producing reliable and durable products and maintaining a positive reputation among consumers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment and perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Adhere to all safety regulations including MSHA, OSHA, and DOT
- Direct quality control personnel
- Monitors all quality related activities
- Establish quality control procedures
- Resolve quality issues
- Maintain quality control records
- Analyze production and quality control reports
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency
- Have an understanding of the development of mix designs
- Ability to train employees
Requirements:
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Have excellent communication skills
- Possess and maintain NECEPT Asphalt Plant Level 2 Certification
- Maintain PennDOT Certified Aggregate Technician
- Must possess basic math skills
- Have knowledge of principals, practices and techniques of testing asphalt and aggregates
- Efficient in Microsoft office specifically, Microsoft excel
- Stonemont experience a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of QA Technician Experience
